Is there any way to run the game in 800x600?

AMD Athlon 3000+, 1 gig of PC400 SD ram, and a Ge Force FX 5600 are not helping me. The game runs TERRIBLE. Even on low details.

I tried using the "custom resolution" thing in the _Civ4Config.cfg file but it would not let me run it in anything but the games resolution that it was set to run @ last.

Anyone got ideas?

Is this not right? If i typed it correctly It should let me run the game @ 800x600

You wrote all ! What kind of sh...ehm...brilliant game can run slow at lowest settings with your specs ??? It's also reported as recommended !

You can try to update your drivers or play with RivaTuner but I think it's impossible to double the FPS or even increase it by a 25%.

The best choice is to wait for an official note from Fireaxis: is this a bug or a wrong release ? Is its slowness (of the game ) fixable ?

Are the correct requirements something like this ?

Dell XPS Pentium 4 3.4GHz, Windows XP, 2.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 6800.

An "independent" reviewer system specifications ( vote: 5/5 : OUTSTANDING!!! ) ...very very typical for a TBS player
