9.16 Aircraft Attack Graphic Bug

When fighters or bombers attack a target, the graphics are now seen in super-fast speed, but take at least as long. This may be an unforeseen side-effect of the doubling of hitpoints.
 
The battles appear to have no delay in my tests. Could you attach a zip of mods folder, cache, moduserdata, and a savegame? :)

If I wasn't waiting for Korea tomorrow, they'd be gone!

For the record, the turns don't take longer. They're just as long, but with the aerial combat animations sped up.
 
I'm experiencing the same thing - animations look like they're about double-speed, but the overall battle-animation time is (or seems) un-changed.

I kinda just figured it was an intended feature, to make the planes appear to be moving faster or something heh.
 
In vanilla, bombers and stealth bombers require up to 32 seconds per attack (yes I timed it, and yes it's crazy :cringe:).

I increased the speed 6-fold so they require at most ~5 seconds to complete an attack in my tests. When the bomber visually returns to base, it instantly shows the damage numbers, and once those disappear it instantly selects the next unit. In which stage is the delay you're encountering?
 
I loaded up the game you provided and attacked with bombers from Orenburg to Essen. Each attack lasted about 3 seconds with instantaneous transitions between the stages of combat. This confirms it's a problem exclusive to your system, which will make it hard to debug. :undecide:

Animation only. It looks like multiple streaks in the sky for all 32 or so seconds.

I'd think a reboot might resolve the issue, except malachi256 had the same problem.
 
Streaks in the sky... you don't see an actual plane flying to the target and back, dropping bombs? Hm... that's certainly a new kind of bug. It might actually be outside the scope of Civ and have something to do with our hardware. What are your system specs?

I rescind my post, in my current game the animations are sped up, but the encounter is also resolving quickly.

edit: These were normal fighters attacking units, cities.
 
Okayyy... same game, different units.

I've got a jet fighter launched from a carrier, attacking an enemy carrier... it did its animation 10-15 times, over and over again, took a good 10+ seconds.

edit: And I'm using v91
