Well i don't have it yet but it looks like Civ 4 is going to be best strategy game of the year surpasing Age of Empires 3 by far, but world of warcrat is rated 9.5.

Well guy's is 9.4 right?

That might make it game of the year (not 'just' strategy game of the year) since WOW was released last year.

I couldn't tell you if it's the game of the year, strategy game of the year, but I will tell you this: It's the only game I'm buying this year :goodjob:

Best game of the year with randome crashes to desktop....can that be a category? So much potential tarnished with pathetic QA

I have played for about 6 hours so far, and not a single crash yet or memory leak

World of Warcraft was laggy as all hell with constant server crashes and insane connect queues when released yet was widely aclaimed as game of the year. In comparison Civ IV has been wonderfully QA'd and should be a frontrunner for the title.

It's by far the best strategy game I've played this year....althiough Down In Flames is a not too distant second.

No memory leaks, no crashes.. and as of now, 8 hours uptime in one shot.. so uh.. no problems on this point. Very nice. I finally got around and for the hell of it nuked a few cities.. Fun!

So we should prepare not just for strategy game of the year! YAY :D

Ahhhhhhhhhhh those days of waiting are so painfull :(

Probably Strategy GOTY, though I'm not sure about over all GOTY. There are a few contenders to that title (stares at The Elder Scrolls 4:Oblivion)
