A couple of minor issues

Hey,

First of all, this is a great mod, and it's awesome that there are people supporting it over such a long time, ever improving gameplay experience :)

That being said, I noticed a couple of minor things that were present prior to version 37:

1) Grand Fire Festival, Lava Rock Quarry and Volcanology Lab didn't have Natural Wonders as prerequisites, however, Myth - Volcano did have them (i.e. you couldn't build those buildings I mentioned if you have Mt. Fuji or Krakatoa in city radius).
2) Heroes that could build the "Achievement" buildings, have a different set of those buildings to build. For example, older ones (such as Odysseus or Ashurbanipal) don't have the Medical and Tourism achievements.

Now, these things might have been intentional, sorry if they were; however, if they were not, I could toss a patch here to fix these things (somehow my changes always get overwritten when I do svn update).

One other thing is the custom home screens . Whenever I go to editor to change columns etc and save the settings, they get erased after restarting Civ. Also, I always get prompted about assets changing when I restart Civ. This might be some sort of access issue - anyone had a similar problem?

Thanks in advance if you read this :)

1) Probably an oversight due to it needing to be modular. A number of the Natural Wonders are volcanoes so probably should also be vicinity prerequisites for those buildings. If we can indeed have or vicinity prerequisites, which I don't think I have attempted, but should be similar to Great Barrier Reef and normal coral reefs. Edit I have a fix for this ready to test and then put on the SVN.

2) I know that the specialists that a Hero can become is variable and depends on the Hero but I thought all "achievement" heroes were supposed to be able to build all achievements. @SO this is your area any comment?

Make sure you are playing Civ as administrator. If you aren't then it wont be able to save the files properly.

Thanks, Dancing Hoskuld!

I'll try launching the game as administrator, I suspected those might be access issues.
As for (1) and (2) - I have patched the game locally, I'll attach changes I made locally, maybe they'll be useful :) (since the forum doesn't allow .patch extension, I renamed it to .txt).

Thanks again!

That's been the way of it. But some may have missed being updated to new achievements and I think what he mentioned were newer designed achievements.

That said, I would advocate narrowing down each hero to one or two possible achievements based on the nature of the hero. Doing this while making each achievement have a roughly equal chance of being obtained might be quite a development project to sort out but it would be better game design imo.

Yes. The filter system is a little mysterious and is not acting correctly. The modder who set it up had knowledge I don't and how he set it up to sense 'new assets' being in use on load is perhaps broken at this point. I'm not sure how that would or could be repaired or where to find it to fix it. So it's an issue for all and probably will be for a while.
