Also, I wasn't suggesting PBEM instead of the eventual pitboss game...just a little side experiment for those who might want to see if they like it. I've never done it in civ 5, but have in 3...it's good for busy people. Five minutes or less a day, and you're done, usually.

A couple programmers have created a program that automates all the saving and sending of files. It's called Giant Multiplayer Robot.

I think it will fall somewhere between pbem and pitboss...simple but probably slower than pitboss. Though I think the potential is there for people who want to play turns quickly to organise turn order by time zones and make their own commitments in terms of speed or time limits. There also seem to be options (or will be) to drop stagnant players or convert them to AI. Good stuff!
