A female Sidar leader, aka Unit's dormant roleplaying genes acting up.

Thats just it though. It's not like Sidar start out being unfeeling, it's just that eternity makes them that way. I'm pretty sure that it's mostly the very base emotions that they give up anyways. Pleasure from food, from sex, etc. If Sandalphon can get high on knowledge, then the cerebral pleasures like reading a good book etc are probably still there. Kael said that shades usually start out as extremely passionate people. You'd have to be, to do immortality the shade way.

Since everything in fantasy is a metaphor of something else, if anything I think the Sidar are kind of FFH's fantasy staple of "Immortality has it's downsides". Sure, Elves live for gadzooks, but they have a culture that integrates that. The shorter more energized lives of regular humans probably doesnt translate well to immortality.

It's not like they're ghosts.

Of course, Sandalphon does say that you miss more the physical pleasures that such things as love.

I wonder if love is such a single layered feeling that you'd lose it. Maybe young love is very tied to the body, but what about the love of an older couple?

Dunno, can't (and won't) test it...

necro-thread.

I still kind of wish the sidar had gotten some variation of the "Younger, more idealistic, fresh on the idea of living forever, and probably not as crafty as she thought" counterpart leaderhead to Sandalphon's strong but quiet old man-ness. Maybe my girly squee-ness is involved there, because I wanted to imply the possibility of making Sand's heart beat again, figuratively :P

But then I never saw the sidars as bald black trashbag wearers either.. rather as more baroque, like the picture of the male Calabim leader.

that picture on the first post is great. VERY Sidar-ish. might be good to have a second leader for them ( could be good for Kurios, Grigori, Illians etc. too... )

Unfortunately the picture doesn't show the whole body, which is the style of FFH leader heads.

With the latest version we got a bunch of new sub-leaders, that might make their way into the epic game (I hope so, anyway). But they're almost all for the evil civs, it seems. I hope there will be some for the neutral and good civs, too. So maybe there could be use for this leader now?

I'd very much like a new female leader whose leader art is not ripped from IWD2. It's not that bad a game, but I had seen those pictures so many times before FfH, kinda gets boring.
