A few questions

OK I have 2 questions: is there a zoom out in the map editor? and is there a way to read the whole box in the map editor?
Thank you

Firepup ,you have a postcount of 3 ,and all 3 posts were anew thread's that were all named after youre username.

The first one was started on Apr 01, 2002 10:21 PM

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19483

Why didn't you reply to youre original thread ,rather than starting two new one's?

Anyway ,this can all happen when you are a newbie. But the next time you start a thread can you give it a title that is related to youre post rather than youre username please?

For the question about viewing the whole box in the map editor, I assume you're talking about the rules editor window. For that you need to have a screen resolution of at least 1280x1024. If you're using a Windows machine, then you can change this by right-clicking on your desktop and scrolling down to Properties. This will open a window titled Display Properties. Click on the Settings tab, and in the part called Screen Area you can adjust your screen resolution. (I'm using Windows 2k and I'm pretty sure it works the same for Windows 98, but I don't know about XP)

Actually it only needs to be 1024x768 (the same resolution required by the game).

On my computer, 1024x768 works fine with the main part of the editor that first comes up when you start the program, but if you open up the window to edit the rules, the bottom and right side are cut off. To be able to view the whole window and have access to all the options in altering the rules it has to be viewed at 1280x1024. Of course, I also am one of the people who got the infamous Civilization3.e.exe error all the time (which recently disapeared for me... ) , so maybe this is just more of whatever problem that is.

Edit: Changed left to right. Two options is too confusing :crazyeye:

Are you sure you are in 1024x768? The rules property page is roughly 900x745 so it should fit on a 1024x768 screen.

Well I can't really prove it to you conclusively without handing you my laptop, but I took some screenshots and uploaded them to the file server for you to look at.

My screen resolution:

The main editor screen:

The editor rules window, going off the edge of the screen on the right and bottom:

I moved the editor rules window down a bit to compare it to the main editor screen. Note that the editor window is maximized, so that's the edge of my screen. The editor rules window is missing the World Sizes and General Settings tabs because they are off the screen on the right.

Sorry to hijack your thread firepup, hopefully someone else will come along with answers to your other questions. :o

Hmmm.... I'm not sure why it requires a larger resolution for you. It does look like your fonts are larger than mine, though. It may be that Windows automatically resizes controls and dialogs for some font settings and schemes.

Hi Mike, I can confirm this.

Windows usually uses SMALL fonts in the display settings but also offers LARGE fonts (that I recommend to everybody who wishes to preserve good eyes).

But whoever uses large fonts cannot use the Civ3 Editor on 1024x768, as some content is rendered invisible outside of the settings windows. So you have to change to a higher resolution before you start the Editor.

I had no problem with that yet, but of course it would be nice if you could attach scroll bars to the settings window.

Are there any good trainers that actually work?
Thank you.
By good trainers I am guessing you mean cheat programs? Correct me if I am wrong.

And like the 3rd post in this thread said, there is an edit button to the left of the quote button. Those buttons are found at the top right of your post. Give the new guy a break though. :D We need to remember to be patient with them.
