A few UI ideas

50. Add option to turn off unit animations during combat (specifically thinking of the unbearably long bomber animations)

This option is indeed available.

In the 'Set up Game Screen' go to Advanced Setup. Under the Advanced Game Option's just 'tick' Quick Combat. This will save you a lot of game time! :goodjob:

Shame there is no Quick Move option too....

Theres no reason we shouldn't have an option to change this mid game though

Have you tried adjusting it in the config.ini file?

Code:
; Set to 1 to disable Combat system
Combat = 0

In FreeCiv, opensource version of civ I and II, clicking reports - cities gives an overview of all cities in your nation. This is ofcourse possible in Civ5 aswell, but with one, and very important, exception.

In FreeCiv, it is possible to control production in multiple cities at once. Lets say I need the same building in all cities to make a wonder. In civ5, as far as I know, I have to manually enter every city and change production. In Freeciv, all i have to do is go to the cities report, select all cities, and then add that particular building to the top of the production que. If a city already has this building, it will simply ignore the command, but all the ones that dont will obey. This works with everything a city may produce (units, buildings, wonders and gold). Cities can be sorted based on all kinds of properties, and selection of multiple, but not all, may be done with CTRL-leftclick or shift-leftclick This makes UI a LOT more efficient, and allows for more gameplay and less pointless clicking exercises. In addition, going into a city to change something is unnecessary, saving even more time.

As a ruler of an empire, if an order applies to more then one city, I fell I am entitled to writing one letter to all cities it concerns, instead of having to travel to every city to issue my order at the farmers market or whatever, which is just so 4000BC.

1. have I failed to recognise how this can be done in civ 5?

2. If the answer to question 1 is no; what do you think of this idea?
