A Game of Thrones

My best guess is that you haven't. Sometimes one can be blind when reading a text you've written yourself. Try to post the txt file and I'll take a look for you. :)

Thanks pal- good to know it's more likely an input error than a bug. I will take a careful look at it tonight, and if I can't figure it out, will post the relevant screenshots and files.

Please find attached a few files. Example 1 shows the location of PediaIcons on my computer and the relevant section of text for one unit. Example 2 shows the names and location of the unit icons on my computer. Example 3 shows the in-game error. Also attached is the PediaIcons text file.

I noticed that the capitalization of the folder structure is different between the text file and the actual folders- but this is the same as for the Conquests units, which of course work fine.

If I put the very same icons in the Conquests folder rather than my scenario folder, then it works fine. But why is this the case? For everything else the scenario folder works. Is it due to the spaces in the scenario name perhaps?

[EDIT] Nope, I tried adjusting for that, it still didn't work.

Aside from the above issue, I have only a handful of leader graphics to add to the scenario, and then V1 would be ready to be posted (Qarth, the 25th player, has been added to the map).

However, I planned on adding some resources to the scenario map. When I select a resource in the editor, all the tiles I hover over seem to be ineligible for placement. Does anyone know how to solve this? Apologies, I did try looking around the help menu and these forums, but couldn't find an answer. I am able to add resources on other scenarios, such as those that come with the game.

[EDIT] Found it, under Terrain, no 'possible resources' were highlighted.

I haven't posted on these forums for over a decade but since I am in the process of creating an ASoIaF mod and a multitude of scenarios based on different time periods and wars of GRRM's books and the histories he has thus created, I find it rather opportune.

You might wanna take a look at the following map. It is an official map created by GRRM for the mobile app 'World of Ice and Fire' which is a must download for any fan of the series.

You might also like the purchase the GRRM's companion book 'The Lands of Ice and Fire' which includes several maps of the continents and regions included in his lore.

Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to use this fantastic map as a template to expand upon. There are plenty of settlements to add in Essos as well as civilizations like Ibben, Lhazar and the Land of Always Winter (White Walkers). My map's eastern boundaries will run from Ibben, through Ifeqevron, the eastern reaches of the Dothraki Sea, down to the sea below Qarth. Anything east or south of that boundary is vaguely mentioned and remains mostly unknown for the time being. Hopefully Martin will divulge more information of the mysterious lands and peoples of Yiti, Sothorys, Jogos Nhai, the Grey Waste, the Shadowlands and Sothorys in the future.

I will delve immediately into the map-editor and work on updating this map and will release it when finished. I will also disclose my grand vision for my scenarios once I have done so and would like to extend my helping hand to this scenario as long as you find it welcome. Jai!

You are more than welcome to use my map as a base, as is anyone who wishes to use it as the basis of a scenario.

At some point I may eventually update it all the way to the Shadowlands in line with the Lands of Ice and Fire, although if I'm being honest, in terms of the 31 Civ limit and the amount of knowledge we have(or are likely to ever have) about the nations east of Slaver's Bay, I think it might be better to keep any scenario within the bounds of areas that we know relatively more about.

Alright cool deal.

Because I am working on a scenario solely based on Westeros, I cropped out Essos from your wonderful map and made many additions and changes to terrain and added several settlements (a few of which are semi-canonical and have never had their location officially disclosed.)

Resource creation and placement are incomplete, as are units, buildings, wonders, techs, etc.

I've been rather swamped with work and the World Cup but I plan on finishing this scenario by September.

The Battle for Westeros will be a generic scenario based upon each kingdom being an independent entity and takes place prior to Robert's Rebellion in 284AC. From this template going forward I intend to make the following scenarios:
Aegon's Conquest
Dance of the Dragons (civil war between Aegon II and Rhaenyra Targaryen)
Robert's Rebellion
War of the Five Kings

Hope you enjoy the map, albeit it is unplayable in it's current form.
