How good are WoW's quests?
Big blocks of typical fantasy text that basically tells you to get 5 gnoll paws and 10 bird livers. Somehow only one gnoll out of 10 has legs and most birds seem to live without livers.
While every single MMO has these type of quests, including WoW, this isnt exactly a fair description of the quests in WoW. At all.
In fact, with the addition of vehicles in WOTLK, the quests involved have gotten quite varied and some of them can be fairly difficult and not boring at all. For example, one that comes to mind in the Storm Peaks area involves you riding a drake with a harpoon on in your inventory. You have to use the harpoon to hit another drake/rider combo, swing over to that drake and then combat the NPC rider to knock them off. You have to do this in a cascade order and one the requisite number is reached, harpoon over to a cliffside building you are flying around to talk to the next NPC in the quest line.
Oh yeah, also escort that really slow guy that isn't there right now because someone else is already escorting him.
Again, are some like this? Absolutely. But are they all like this? Absolutely not.
There's also the "collect these shiny objects" around while killing mobs that wander into your aggro field. Or click on things to make them light up while killing mobs that wander into your aggro field.
Again, some are...some arent.
None of it involves multiplayer.
And this is false and has been for years. Even in the Burning Crusade there are PvP quests that will mark you PvP if you are trying to complete that quest. More are even part of WOTLK. There are also PvE boss quests that you simply cannot solo and it will require a 3 to 5 man group to complete.
Except for instances.
This is simply incorrect.
