a good MMOPG?

How good are WoW's quests?

Big blocks of typical fantasy text that basically tells you to get 5 gnoll paws and 10 bird livers. Somehow only one gnoll out of 10 has legs and most birds seem to live without livers.

While every single MMO has these type of quests, including WoW, this isnt exactly a fair description of the quests in WoW. At all.

In fact, with the addition of vehicles in WOTLK, the quests involved have gotten quite varied and some of them can be fairly difficult and not boring at all. For example, one that comes to mind in the Storm Peaks area involves you riding a drake with a harpoon on in your inventory. You have to use the harpoon to hit another drake/rider combo, swing over to that drake and then combat the NPC rider to knock them off. You have to do this in a cascade order and one the requisite number is reached, harpoon over to a cliffside building you are flying around to talk to the next NPC in the quest line.

Oh yeah, also escort that really slow guy that isn't there right now because someone else is already escorting him.

Again, are some like this? Absolutely. But are they all like this? Absolutely not.

There's also the "collect these shiny objects" around while killing mobs that wander into your aggro field. Or click on things to make them light up while killing mobs that wander into your aggro field.

Again, some are...some arent.

None of it involves multiplayer.

And this is false and has been for years. Even in the Burning Crusade there are PvP quests that will mark you PvP if you are trying to complete that quest. More are even part of WOTLK. There are also PvE boss quests that you simply cannot solo and it will require a 3 to 5 man group to complete.

Except for instances.

This is simply incorrect.

I hope there's more than this one because that's the same example my girlfriend gave me when I was having a similar argument with her when she wanted me to get back into the game for WOTLK.

I still maintain that the average person playing WoW from level 1 to 80 will spend a majority of their time questing by themselves and sort of just yawning their way to 80, except the first time they play the game. Which is why I went with the exagerated "none of it involves multiplayer".

You can actually get experience from the PvP battlegrounds now, so if you wanted to you could level entirely from those and completely ignore all quests. Of course, the downside is that at low levels there's only 1 battleground too choose from, and only 5 total once you reach 80. And you'd have to quest to reach level 10 (the minimum for battlegrounds) first, but that doesn't really take too long these days.

Well, a good portion of that is also attributed to your gaming personality. If your the kind of person who is outgoing and will readily invite someone to join you in a quest your're more likely to actually find those multi-player groups. If you cant be bothered to do that and would rather just chug through the game, you can do that as well.

there are top mmos like wow or aion or fiesta like that or voyage century
but good mmo gaming means to have players playing with you otherwise you could go up to lv 40 to 60 but loose intrest then in most highlevel gaming when without having players to play with yuu
you need them badly other players to form a group, and need to form a good group
