A New Dawn - LAN problem

I've been playing rise of mankind 2.92 with my gf over LAN and we both love it so we decided to try out A New Dawn. We installed the latest version and patch H following the installation guide carefully, however we are unable to see each other in the LAN lobby and can only connect via direct connect, and when we do the game constantly says "waiting to hear from [other player]". any assistance would be greatly appreciated as this is a fantastic mod and Civ 4 just isn't the same after playing it.

If any of the installed files are diff you won't be able to see each other in lan... try copying the rise of mankind folder from one computer to the other... delete or rename the rise of mankind on the computer your copying to first though...
