While doing my normal browsing of the internet, I found out about a Civ3 Demogame at http://civ3.1bigcommunity.com. They appear to still be forming themselves, only about to start playing. However, it's their first game, so they are also in the process of forming their government from scratch (Shaitan: wanna help w/ their constituion?:D). They haven't even named themselves yet.

Do we contact them and show them our advanced ways?

As a note, you need to join their forums to view the threads.

Wow, they are backward. I think having no political parties puts us a LONG WAY ahead of other demo-games, they all dengrate into in-fighting and mud-slinging. Poly had 2 parties and that was bad, these guys have half a dozen!!

And good lord, they need a constituion fast!!

Who are you calling backward

Just kidding - greetings from the Community! As I have explained to that fearless pioneer Almightyjosh, you have found us in a most unfortunate state of severe internal crisis. While the strife between our parties is considered healthy for the political environment, and many of the smaller parties are bound to either merge into larger ones, or disband altogether, our current problems with the Executive Team are much worse. Also, as you have pointed out, we are currently without a solid constitution, instead using an old and outdated test draft.

As soon as we get in better shape I would like to exchange ambassadors, although this must of course be left up to the Assembly and the Department of State. Perhaps we could even set up something of a joint platform to include ambassadors from Poly?

Until then - if you have any questions, feel free to either ask me in this thread (though I'm not on CFC very often, I can manage to keep an eye on one thread :)) or login to 1BC and ask around there.

Regards,

Well, maybe backward was a little unfair, after all we we're so once, but you do seem to have a gob full of internal strife!!

Hey, do you think you could give us spice, a territory map and 50g for contact with the Apolonians?

Another demogame! Wow, we need another embassy! ;)

Now there's:

CFC
'Poly
GameCatcher
1BigCommunity (1BC)

Hmm, I'll use this as sort of an embassy. ;)

1BC, I can't seem to log on to your board. I get this error message:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14'

Line 1: Incorrect syntax near '§'.

/lib_db_functions.asp, line 126

Sure, thanks. You can pm me.

AJ - did you catch foot and mouth disease then? :crazyeye:

How about an account for anybody wanting to contact them from civfanatics?
Username: civfanatics
Password: ambassador

Note - It is just a suggestion, I haven't set it up.

Personally I'd prefer if people simply create an account, this would make it much easier to identify separate posters. Be sure to configure your email preferences when you set up an account: You can switch email tracking of a thread you're posting in on and off when you post a reply, the check box will default to your last used setting.

MM - another PM sent. ...

Ah, I get it now, thanks :)

To all Fanatikans: I have just presented what I hope to be the final draft of the constitution (now version 0.41) in the DG - Supreme Court section of our boards. Feel free to have a look around and give some input - in particular, I would love to share thoughts and comments with whoever wrote your constitution.

I would also second building an embassy there. But not the "one user for all" idea.

I think it should be one of our mandates to try to bring all demogames together in a big community with a network of embassies and good relations.

This would also open up great opportunities for future multiplayer games.

I would advocate hosting this joint embassy on the 1BC boards - our setup includes many different boards and a separate Embassy board could easily be created to prevent Embassy talk from interfering with the other boards. That board could be set up as "open for all" so foreigners don't need to apply for 1BC citizenship to visit the Embassy.

I have started a brainstorming session on the details of sending out ambassadors in our Department of State board, and would encourage you to do something similar. As said before, we need to work out our internal problems before we can commit to this officially, and from then on it will be in the hands of the Minister of State. You may want to start a discussion on this subject with Apolytonia?
