A New Democracy Game 'Found!'

i asked the apolytonians if they want to buy communications to the other nations from us :-P
i wonder how they will react.

propably they will spy on us and get it anyways.

I'm proud to announce we have actually made our first moves. So we're up and running after a serious crisis. I've also noticed CFC members visiting our forums: welcome, may our settlers meet in peace.

Greetings, I am Scorpius A Perenius, Minister of Finance and Science for The Community and visitor to your land. Soon I will be taking time to look around your DG to study and learn from its inner workings and experience. I apreciate all the effort in making contact from the people of Fanatika and welcome any communication and sharing of ideas between our peoples.

Greetings. I have done some searching and I'd first like to say I think you'v done a very good job. Since we do not have an official meeting place yet I hope you don't mind if I ask questions here.

1. How many cities will govenors rule over?

2. Do mayors have any powers in the DG, or is it for the RPG game only?

3. Is there a place where you keep an organized record of everything thats happened? Like a timeline or a clerks office? I found your budget but there wasn much there. I was looking for financial and scientific records.

As Fanatika's Chief Justice, and an expert on Fanatikan law, I'd be happy to answer your questions.

1. Each governor is in charge of a single province. A province may contain any number of cities.

2. Mayors play a more ceremonial role in government. These are not official positions. They do serve in reporting to the governor on the will of the people, and occasionally propose build queues, which the governor may or may not reject.

3. We did have a historical statistics office, but I'm not sure what's become of it.

If you need help with your government, I'd be glad to help in The Community.

Until an embassy is set up between us I invite you or any other Fanatikans to come visit The Community. If you have any questions and am not sure where to get answers you are always welcome in my office.

As the Nation's best (OK, only) Governor, I welcome you and your inqusitive countrymen!

As X said, Govs rule a province with any number of cities. Usually a province is only established once there are three cities available and will not grow above 12 (though there are exceptions).

Mayors have a ceremonial role currently, but I am in the process of writing provincial law to give them more influence and power (delegation of my own powers). They are also responsible for the protection and promotion of their city in the community. Currently we have only one city, Bavaria, to which a Mayor has recently been appointed (disorganiser).

As the one-and-only mayor at the moment, i must say mayors play a bigger role than many think:
They add a flavor to the game, giving people the possibility to identify and "feel" the game.

That is indeed important. I'm very charmed with the system of Governors, Provinces and a Senate. We may adopt such a system when our civ grows largerthan our Minister of Interior can handle. Are governors/senators elected or are they appointed?

We are elected by the citizenry. Mayors are appointed (as I did dis), but a Governor may hold an opinion poll if they want. I'm glad you like the senate, it's all mine at the moment. I'm also trying to establsih a provincial council to act as a local government (like the senate but made up of Mayors).

monkey, I am a citizen of the 1BC demogame and have joined a party and everything, why can't I acess polls? I can't enter the poll sub-forum.

Also, do threads not go to the top when people post in them? It seems that threads are ordered by when they were established not when they were last used!
