Something I'd like to see:
A way to discriminate techs, and make them seem 'bad'. Think about it: we know now what techs are good and which are useless, etc etc. However, in reality scientists and civs only had a hint as to what was useful or not. Only nowadays can we judge pretty accurately the benefit of many different advances in science. Also, in history, many leaders have made certain unlocked scientific secrets secret, just to keep the populace and/or enemies from using them (ie: cold fusion).
Anyways, just a thought. What I'd really like to see is, in the next civ game, have its makers give no hints or info about units/advances, etc, so that we would unlock them as we played, like history (ie: we do not know alphabet lets us research math and writing, only researching it tells us that). Perhaps there could be two versions, one like civ3 and one like above. It would add a nice twist to the game.
