I have modified the Far Horizons Scenario by adding four units. By themselves, the units work as well as in other scenarios. The problem is that when all four of them are used, the and I build a city, the game imediatly exits. What's happening.

Note, this only happens to this copy of the .big file.

Does it give you an error message when the game exits? if so, post what it is. It may be a units32.pcx problem. but i'm not sure

EDIT: scratch that. it probably isn't a units32.pcx problem just ignore that part

On the contrary, I think that's the only thing it could be, unless he's added some wonders or something.

I've checked the units32.pcx and there's nothing wrong there as far as I can tell, nor do I receive an error message. You build the city and the moment you see the city screen it flashes black before showing the desktop. As for additions, the only thing I've added is the four units to the Far Horizons scenario. Without the additions or with any one of them it works fine.

Yes, any combination of two or three does work. Is there a limit to the total number of units that can be added?

Nope. That's strange. I have between 500-600 units in my mod. No limit found yet. I had this problem once before and never really solved it. I just started a fresh biq and imported everything from the crashing one and for some odd reason the new one works. :crazyeye:

It could be with the program you are using to change the units_32. I had the same problem, until I switched to using the GIMP.

Maybe it is the Civ Gods punishing you for Altering Sword of Geddeon's Work.

Same thing happened to me but I assumed it was because I imported a map that somehow did not jibe with my prexisting biq. Never solved that problem as I moved on to another project. It will be interesting to see if anyone can shed some light on this.

Sorry for the delayed response, between being sick and going to see John Valby, this is my first chance in two days to get on the computer.

That aside, its not the computer as it only happens to with the map I've changed, including reinstallation and editing of the mod. The mod still works with the unedited maps as well and no other map has these issues. Not only that, I have also tried this on two other computers with identical results.

As for the program, I am using Irfanview 3.91 as it is my default for reading and editing .pcx files. If it is the program, then I will switch immediately. Just a quick question concerning that, where would I find GIMP?

Does it just quit out, or does it give an error message? If it gives a message, post it.

So... did you just read the first post? I already asked that question.

Oops I'm blid! :crazyeye:

Just finished downloading GIMP and familarizing myself with it and now that I have, I downloaded the units_32.pcx file and edited it. Now there are no problems with the map! Thanks for everyone's help.
