A really dumb question!

i installed nero today and it asked if i wanted to open my .gif .jpg .bmp etc files with it, i said no.

installed it and all my .mpg files are now opened with nero! hey no one asked me! so how do i change it back?

this is kinda embarassing to ask, i used to know how to assign a certain program to a certain file type, but i have forgotten!

The easiest way I find is to open the program with which you want to open .mpg with (e.g windows media player) and go to the options or file associations section and re-assign it to this program.

Open any explorer window, and go to Tools. Then select Folder Options. From there you can change the Registered File types, and open your .mpg files with whatever you want to open them with.

thanks! i actually did "Open any explorer window, and go to Tools. Then select Folder Options." earlier, i just wasnt sure if i was in the right place and went on to look somewhere else

im gonna tattoo this info on me so i wont have to ask anyone ever again.
