I'm not sure really when this started cause I haven't played any games in several weeks. I can view images just fine along with ingame movies. However Civ4 isn't the only game with this problem. I went to start a new civ game and the first city I place is all read and even a rice field near by is all red. The globe in the main menu of the game is very red as well. The rest of the game is ok. I've uploaded an image of the first city so people can see what I'm talking about.

I've updated my video drives, sound card, ran dxdiag, all updates from MS. I've also tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it.

System specs:
1.3gz amd cpu
1.2 gigs ram
a graphics card from bfg tech - GeForce 6800 GT (Ithink gt but I know its 6800.
Creative Audigy 2 ZS sound card.

A side note, the latest graphics update when I boot up I get a message saying its disabling sli mode cause a card has been removed. This is interesting since I've never had a sli setup. The graphics card is sli capable just never used it.

I'd love any suggestions other than to buy a new graphics card. JK! I starting to think my system is eating graphics cards once a year.

thanks in advance!

Let me add some more info....

The card is a agp and is from bfg. I saw the thread on this forum about trouble with bfg 6800. I can run the games fine but now the graphics are a little messed up. I'm using the current 91.31 drivers from nvidia. I haven't tried down grading my graphics drivers yet but I will tonight when I get home. I haven't checked my temp on the card either.

I also never shut my PC off but do reboot often.

Here is a picture of the main menu screen.

Thanks for the info.

I'm getting a replacement video card. I tried rolling back driver versions last night, can't remember when I stopped. I used an slightly old card I had to check and the graphics were fine. I've heard from TSupport from the card and I'm setting up an RMA.

Those drivers were the answer. Hmm I don't know why that thread didn't come up in my searches.

Anyway I did check a whole bunch of other drives even the ones right after 77.72 and none work. I sent an email to the tech guy for the card I have in hopes they will raise a flag at nvidia.

Happy gaming!

I'm glad to hear you found a solution. Let's hope the raised flag will be a big RED one, eh? LOL!

Happy Civving! :D
