Checking in on your thoughts.

So far I don't mind the civ switching. I don't have any hard coded idea of what civ is in my brain, and I'm fairly open minded to it. But there are some downsides. For the AI's I don't see them as individual civs, in fact I often can't tell what civ they are at a glance. So it gets a bit scrambled sometimes. On higher levels I'll have to pay more attention to what civ they are actually playing so I know their strengths. It's not as bad as Humankind (where I really felt like civs had no identity), but it's noticeable.

Which sounds better to you:

A. A game you know how to play already with new graphics and content.
B. A new game you have to learn how to play

Civ 7 is the second.

I like both options. Sometimes I like A. For example, I love the updated Age of empires because I played the OG. So it is nice getting into a familar game but with updated graphics. I know I would love a remasted Alpha Centauri because I loved that game. So I would love to play the game again with updated HD graphics. But I also like B. The whole point of getting a new game is often the fun of discovery, learning the new rules, the strategies etc... Otherwise, we would never buy a new game ever.
