For those of you who haven't completed the first scenario, please don't look at the spoiler if you don't like surprises.
Spoiler :
Falamar dies because Keelyn is such a brat?!? :aargh:! I can't believe he drowned in the ocean! By the way, does anyone know why Keelyn called the griffons chicken-cats? And if Falamar died, then why was he telling the story? Is he not dead?:mischief:

*Sigh.*
Spoiler :
He ain't dead. Danalin's archangel needed him. Start up the Momus, and get ready for a wild ride...
Chicken cats... well, think about it. It's half cat, specifically lion, and half chicken. (Well, technically eagle, but tell that to Keelyn. Preferably when Chuckles isn't around.)

Not entirely sure your conclusion about what happened to the protagonist is entirely correct.

But my first reaction was similar to the OP :)

Luckily I had time to start the second scenario :D

"Are you my reward?"

I had 1 chicken cat die to an animal, and no more respawned so I had to quit.

The game checks every turn to make sure the appropriate animals are out there. If they arent it spawns them.

Didn't work for me. By the time I quit I had units covering the whole map. I didn't play for like 10 turns and stop, I played for a long long while afterwards

Momus is crazy hard too...

Spoiler :

I managed to build up a respectable large stack of chariots, only to get dogpiled on by all the AIs... Not being able to declare war on the weak ones to eliminate them is hard - and the time you have to wipe them out is not long enough!!!!

They won't spawn in non-fog of war. You should let the fog be there for the animals to spawn in.

I know that, I did that, I tried that.

I also tried deleting my animals thinking there may be an upper cap on animals.

I managed to finish Grand Menagerie without actually building the Grand Menagerie.

I wish the forums had a facepalm smiley just for occasions like this.
