AC and WIN XP SP2 ?

Hi,

Does Alpha Centauri run in the WIn XP SP2 environment?

I downloaded the XP patch from www.firaxis.com but the game does not even install..

When I try to install the game I get an error message which translates into something like:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The systemfile is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

.. I was really looking forward to revisiting Planet

Found the solution on another site dedicated to another great old game. The solution is:

1: You open up the DOS window

2: Locate the following file: C:\WINDOWS\I386\AUTOEXEC.NT_

3: Type expand -r autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt

4: And voila! The game installs!
