I've been scouring the forum a little but can't really seem to find what I'm after...

In beyond the sword, I would like to be able to play the Dutch civilization (or any other for that matter) starting from a historically/culturally accurate location, on both a (very) large map of Europe and the World.

Could someone please kindly point me towards the easiest way of achieving this? Thanks in advance!

I would recommend that somone would have already created such a scinario, try the modding forum?

Anyway, real civilisations rarely have a linear development like in civ4. Real civilisations are always getting conquored and often re-establish themselves after some time, and or move around and or join other races and a miriad of other things going on.

You could probably start your dutch colony anywhare inside the modern day boarders of that country and you would have some historical settlement event at some point to justify it.

Try the Rhyze and Fall Scenario, it includes all civilizations on their historic starting locations, unfortunately that's a huge map so either do what retspan reccomends and check the modding forums or you could try World Builder

Moderator Action: Moved to the Creation and Customization forum.

I would check the downloads database, since most of those maps, which are large, also have accurate starting locations. Make sure it's for BTS though (most are).
