I've been playing a couple of games in a multiplayer LAN game with my friends that I did not finish. I'm interested in the achievement about winning a multiplayer game. I was wondering - since I don't want to spend time playing the game after we're done playing - if finishing a multiplayer game in singleplayer mode gives you the achievement. I've noticed when I want to continue the game, I have to access it from the multiplayer menu - so I figured this might mean I will get the achievement if I finish it all by myself.

Does anyone know if this is possible, or do you have to play it to the finish with your friends?

What if we team up in a game and destroy all the other players?

Yes. If you continue the game without the others the AI will replace them.

However, if you think that'll take too long.
Start a hot-seat match on a duel map, quick game pace and just win.

Yeap, you can get the achievement on Hotseat against yourself. I would however recommend letting Player 1 win the game, I can't remember if you can get the achievement with the other players.

You can earn the Last Man Standing achievement by continuing the game without the other players. If you just want to get the achievement easily, there are many settings you can do to make the game go faster for a quick win (I know one method of doing it in one turn).

Easiest way to do it on turn 0: set up a duel hotseat game where you are playing both players, do player 1's turn and then have player 2 resign. Works, if you're into that sort of thing. :crazyeye:

I don't really get people who want to cheese Steam achievements.

Just get that program that hacks them for you, if all you care about is getting an achievement at all costs.

Yeah well, one thing is to get all achievements, but I don't just look for the simplest solution :) - as Gore pointed out. On the other hand I don't want to play a whole multiplayer game through as we never finish any of these games simply because we start all over again each time we meet.

I will try this out, but we've also been talking about doing a "team game". When playing one of these I guess you could still get the achievement? Do I have to be the one leading in points or just be on the winning team?

Is it just me, or are there some problems with multiplayer achievements? I got the achievement of spreading my religion to all capitals (We are family) just by spreading it to all of my own cities

The reason for asking is I've been having problems with my current LAN game. I've startet a new thread on that issue, and I would be very happy if you could help me out on that issue...

In case this game is lost for me I think I will go for a win in a "team game".
