Addition to Colors n Chrome Interface Modpack for Civ III

Note: This post was originally posted in the Colors n Chrome Interface Modpack for Civ III Thread. It has been months since I posted any new updates to the modpack, so I am starting a new thread for those who have stopped reading the old one but might be interested in any new developments.

Well thanks to GIDustin for help with a bothersome pallete problem, and others who have expressed an interest, I am back to completing the mod! I now intend to fully complete this modpack. Here is a list of things I will be working on:

Redoing the Firaxis brown center in all the Advisor screens: Actually I plan to redo other items on the Advisor screens too.

I have finished redoing the Domestic Advisor screen, the worldsetup and civilization select (playersetup) screens. I am posting a zip file here with these additions for those who would like to have these items now. The file download size is 280 kbs. Get the zip file here:

I have finished the City Screen and Reworked the Negotiating Table, and finished the popup menus. The file download size is 229 Kbs. Get the updated zip file here:

I plan to finish the Advisor Screens, City View Screen, and popup menus first. I will post these as their finished. I will then work on the Civilopedia and Victory Screens. I plan to repack the modpack after I finish all the new graphics and release it as a single zip file. Well maybe not a single zip because the upload limit is 3 megabytes. I will email Thunderfall, he helped me with posting a 4.5 megabyte file, perhaps he will post the revised mod as a single zip. If all else fails, I might just link to it from a free webhost. We shall see. Thanks again to all of you who have expressed an interest in this modpack. As you can see, your interest has prompted me to complete it. So keep up the good comments! Hello!

I just downloaded all new updates and put the new files in the art folders of PTW and vanilla.
My problem is that when I build my first city and check inside it dose not show me on which tile the citizen laborer is working on. I have to go over the citizen laborer with my mouse in order for it to show correctly. I have to do that every time when I go to the city screen. Did I do something wrong here???

Help would be awesome!

Hi Civrules,

Im sorry you're having a problem with the city screen. I believe the problem is that you got an older version of the city screen pcx file. The original one had a palette problem. Here is a link to the fixed city screen pcx file. Be sure to rename it to background.pcx. Im glad you liked the rest of it. Let me know if you have any more problems. Here is the link:

P.S. This mod was made for the original civ 3. Everything works fine though in Play the World. Except I do believe there is a problem with a couple of the science screens matching up to the technologies. Im not sure if this is so, but I think it is. Just wanted you to know. Hope this helps.

Hi civrules,

Your right, the link url was not correct. I fixed it on that page I linked you to, but here is the link to the file so you don't have to go there. Remember to rename it to background.pcx before you put it in your City Screen folder. Let me know if this fixes your problem.
