Advanced Combat Commands

These are some combat commands that I feel would be nice to have in Civ4.

1. Auto-recon: Just like auto-bombard, a unit will continually recon a chosen spot

2.Auto-patrol/move:A unit would patrol back and forth to a player selected waypoint(s) within their movement turns.

3. Auto-engage/Auto-bombard: An ability, in which you could decide whether a unit automatically bombards when an enemy unit enters within range. Not like current auto-bombard where you pick a spot and the unit constantly bombards the spot no matter what is or isn't in it. Also, it wouldn't be totally like zone of control, because this would allow unit to bombard an enemy within the bombardment range(ex 1,2,3 squares away,etc)

4. Selective Precision Bombing: Improved over current precision bombing. This should be where the player can select what specific improvement or unit to bombard.

It would be nice if they could actually patch this into the current C3C game, but I haven't heard of any reports of hell freezing over. Regardless, these would be nice combat additions to Civ4.
 
You should be able to write your own codes to control the AI of your automated units.

Like, If enemy offensive unit is within __ squares of city, then bombard

If enemy defensive unit is within __ squares of city, then attack with nearest unit with attack stength > 5

Let this be optional and let users make the rules as complex as they need to be.

Same idea would be fun for micromanaging cities...

If city is coastal, then build structures in order ( granary, supermarket, fisherpersons wharf, SS structural, local airport)
 
great idea lumpenprole! would take some gettin used to but very effective once learned :)
