I had some questions based on the village hut events discussed here: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/civ1-explained-tribal-huts-visit-outcomes.510312/

In the attached "0" save, I have a cavalry adjacent to a hut for testing. There is a nearby American city (Washington) and with the city there I get the following events (from about twenty tests):
* Horde of Barbarians
* Valuable metal deposits
* Scrolls of ancient wisdom

In the attached "1" save, the American city was destroyed. From this save, after several tests, I do get the "Advanced Tribe" event.

There is a difference between this behavior and the logic in the linked thread above. In the "0" save, the fact that barbarian events are possible should indicate that the hut is far enough from the city to become an advanced tribe.

Does anyone know what is going on here and why this behavior is different from the logic in the thread? Feel free to download and tests the saves yourselves. Thanks!

Hi,
I have encountered multiple times that the version of the Civilization that you are playing on, or comparing to matters (there are .01 through .05, the .02 is almost not existent and I really doubt that it really exists).
The different versions behave differently due to new algorithms introduced in newer versions. So try to play with different version. I'm sure that this is the case.

Cheers :)
