The map is a bit like a horse shoe and the year is 1000AD. I fought a long war with the Zulus (who are now dead). My army consists of 100 Immortals most are on the Zulu & Russian front.

The English attacked me on the other side, I capture one of there cities but they took it back. They have many knights and the best I was doing was just holding ground on that front. In desperation I gave Russia 3 luxuries to declare war on the English. The English then gave me a peace treaty + 1 tech.

The English are a major threat to me in this game. To move my immortal army to other side will take 15 turns and open up some vacant zulu land. I could get a Right of Passage from Russia which would reduce the amount of turns to get there but that will cost me again. Or should I attack Russia to get there, but they just saved my **** ? I just started producing some knight and only have 2.

Any advice appreciated.

It seems that you need more military units.
Make friend with Russia and attack English when you are ready.

i agree with raymund, build a stronger army then get russia to help you beat the hell outta the english

my idea is conquer the weakest nation and then later on, attack the English when you are mighty, and also a mutual protection pact with Russia would help.
Like the Russians would say: "Da comrad" (yes, friend)

Since you aren't involved in any current wars you might consider expanding your emire and found some cities in former Zulu territory, unless they are very far removed from your palace/forbidden palace the extra proction of these cities will allow you later in the game to produce extra troops, and after having expanded your emipre you can pick a war after you've prepared yourself for it thoroughly and not have to worry about troop movements like you'd have to do now if you were to decide to start a war with either Russia or England.

Good luck!

Send settlers to take the Zulu land, and start transporting those Immortals over to prepare for the fight with England. While your doing this you also need to build more knights. When you get your units over into position for war, ally with Russia and if there is anyone else on the English border you might want to bring them into the war too. You might also want to send a small strike force to cut the English iron/horse supplies (iron is most important) so they can take England's ability to produce more good units away as soon as you declare war. If they can't produce any more knights or pikemen then your immortals should eventually win through, unless of course they get gunpowder, in which case you need to cut their saltpetre supplies too.

It's difficult for me to make any comments without seeing a map or save game, but from your comments I think you need to take some time out from fighting and build some infrastructure like city improvements, tile improvements, etc. Building all military all the time is going to cripple you in the long run if you don't get some marketplaces, aqueducts, factories, etc. in your cities. Maybe that's not the case, but with 100 immortals I think I can see what you've been building for a while. If Russia is on your side, and you have 2 knights, it seems silly to attack your ally just to get back to your territory faster. Let the AI civs fight it out while you develop your cities a bit is what I say.
