Warlords
Huge map
10 Civs (7 ai / 3 human)

Not sure of the exact year but tech tree area is drama/calendar/code of laws/etc

Human 1 = France / Louie score = 600
Human 2 = Greece / Alexander score = 400
Human 3 = English / Elizabeth score = 400

I'm English and looking for ways to stay in the game - I just plopped my 4th city so my city sizes are 8/8/4/1 w/only 1 on a coast (size 4)

I'm running science at about 90% and could make it 100% w/a small loss in gold per turn as I have a few hundred gold built up at this point

In addition, my top 2 cities have resources of wine/ivory/horses/rice and I have built cottages in both city areas as well

None of the humans have a tech advantage at this point per say

France tells me they can plop any wonder that appears in about 10 to 15 turns - isn't there a max of 2 world wonders per city?

France has been using their industrious trait to the max and has 8 cities and probably 5 world wonders w/a good amount of military units - although word has it tweaking is needed in their cities as gold is becoming a problem (i.e. had to decrease science meter)

How to stay in the game as Elizabeth and keep France from running away with it??

Advice welcome

Thx!

Oiler,

Probably best if you actually post the game.

You can put as many world wonders in a city that you like ... you're confined to two national wonders per city (i.e. Oxford Uni', Forbidden Palace, Wall Street, Hermitage, Mount Rushmore, Heroic Epic, National Epic, Red Cross, etc.).

Elizabeth is somewhat of a schitzophrenic leader in that she has both the #1 cottage economy trait (Financial) coupled with the #1 specialist economy trait (Philosophical). You're looking for city sites with lots of food so you can pop lots of early game :gp:s out of one or two where there's sufficient food to carry lots of specialists while other commercially-oriented cities can be 'cottaged up' (also with good food levels) to become commercial powerhouses in the mid- and late-game.

... or the quick answer is to invade France and take all of Louis's / De Gaulle's world wonders!

There is a limit of two national wonders per city, not world.

It doesn't sound like you're in trouble, if that's what you're worried about. Score is a poor indicator of performance, especially this early in the game, and France can't win simply by building wonder after wonder.

What you should do is leverage Elizabeth's tremendous teching abilities and pick a victory condition to pursue. It's early enough in the game where all avenues of winning the game are open, but depending on the international situation and geographic setup, one might be preferable over the other.

Every city that is building a wonder is NOT building a unit to guard that wonder. Get yourself an army together and go in there and take them

 That is where I fail a lot, forgetting to ramp up my military...
