Afghan Inspection declares Gitmo "Humane"

The problem with this is that any international humane orginization is very anti-american. The only one I could think of that might not be is the International Red Cross, and someone laready accused the Red Cross of puppetry.

No-one did; it was only pointed out that the Red Cross doesn't publicly comment on the conditions they encounter as a rule. And that's because they want to be able to continue to visit prisoners under all circumstances, never mind how nasty the government responsible is.
Someone stated that the Red Cross has a permanent office on Gitmo; I can find no corroboration on that on the ICRC site other than a mention that they visit every 6-8 weeks. Googling the Red Cross and Gitmo did turn up public criticisms of the treatment of the detainees by ICRC officials which wasn't publicly confirmed or denied by the ICRC itself.

Wonder whether the ICRC visits Bagram, btw.

What really amazes me about people here is that it seems that America is capable of lieing at every moment.

It is. So is everyone else. But not everyone else publicly touts themselves as the defenders of freedom all the time.

While at the same time the same "enlightened" European governments are basically infallable. If anyone can name one international humane orginization that hasn't already lambasted the US on some stupid human rights violation then feel free to tell me, from what I hear the US's capital punishment policies make us worse than any country in the world.

Nice way to divert the discussion. No-one's talking about the death penalty (which, it must be noted, is applied in the US at a rate second only to China iirc, and disproportionally to people not of Caucasian ethnicity), we're talking waterboarding and other assorted nastiness, and holding people for five years without a charge. Practice what you preach, people.

And yes, that includes any European government engaged in this kind of moral turpitude.

Staring there I doubt we'd get a fair shake from anyone. It seems to me that doing so would only open us to further criticism from the hpocrits who are already so busy criticizing every move we make they have nothing left in their lives.
*Sigh

Help, help, I'm being oppressed !

Please clarify, is this because they're international, or because they're humane?

Yes, of course.

I see, you set up a strawman no-one else has mentioned so you can knock it down.
erm, Nice swerve?

No, just the civilised ones.
Tell me, are you going head to head with China and the third world?
