As in the title thread after i have installed 1.61 Mao's name doesn't appear when you have to choose your leader instead of it appear a script: (china_leader_txt_key) or similar.
This also happens in 2 graphical options (enabling hires terrain and city radius)
Anyone has also experienced this?

Same here.

Precisely when i should press shift when civ4 is launched or when i'm beginning a new game. There is also similar scripts like txt_menu_custom_scenario instead of customize scenario.
I play civ4 with italian language.
Anyway i pressed shift when i had launched civ4 but nothing happened

Also in another thread they mentioned that those kind of things, (no text on the menus or similar things) happens to people who had modded the game, or who had installed a mod. It would be interesting to know if you have modded or instaled a mod, Just to prove/disprove the theory.

A cache is an area either on your hard drive or in RAM where information is stored for quick retrieval. Sometimes, such as after updating a program, the information stored in the cache won't match up with the way the program now works. To get a clean slate, you have to clear (clean out) your cache.

Civ 4 lets you clear the game's cache by holding down the shift key while the game loads. Wait until you get the load screen with the progress bar and the rotating mouse icon. Then press and hold the shift key.
