Age of Civ Fans...

great to see that i can feel kinda young here :)

anyway - i'm 25½, played civ1 first at the age of 12 if i'm right... about 1 week after i switched vom my good old C= 64 to a 286... played and loved all other Civ's also Master of Orion I&II, Master of Magic and (imho one of the best) Alpha Centauri but somehow hated Call to Power...

...and i'm still unsure what i should think about IV, it looks like the 'new' Pirates! kinda weird and too simplified but i hope it will be good anyway. (as long i don't have to go trough Dance Dance Revolution style combat or anything like that ;))

23 been playing the game since I was 11 got me into history actually. Now I'm gonna teach it soon... Thanks Sid you changed my life lol...
You know what, come to think of it, i think thats what got me into history as well. Now i have a BA in archaeology, going to take a couple years off before i go to grad school though, so i got plenty of time for civ4!!!:D

I'm 28 old, I started with Civilization 2 and I just got so addicted. I continued with Civ 3 and of course I now barely can wait for Civ4. I have much of free time so I can play Civ almost every day for couple hours. I think it ruined some apsects of my social life, but that's small price I paid for such great pleasure playing this awesome game.

I'm 21 and used to play Civ1 after my uncle got me into it years ago. Then got Civ2, Civ2MP (which i played with my uncle lots) and then Civ3 (+PTW and Conq).

My uncle still plays a lot and he is 67!

Good plan. Grad School and Civ are a pretty dangerous combination :mischief: Flexible schedule, no one checking up on you for years at a time, too poor to afford any real entertainment, good internet connections to download mods and surf CivFanatics...

18, since civ 1!!! Yep, i was very young when i started palying, on my cousins 386. I remember my first civ was the babylonians (light green!)

yep, civ 2 was just awesome, .life revovled aroudn it... then civ 3, and it was pretty good. but no life revolving. If Civ 4 is a dissapointment, maybe il do good in university b/c i wont be distracted :P

Off-topic (yeah i know, sorry)

Anyone here remembers Master of Magic? It was a kind of Civ with a fantastic Background (you had spells and build magical monsters, had heroes and stuff...)

Was that a Sid game?

18, and surprised that I'm older than most.

edit: I've been playing since ~'96 btw

I don't know about that, it seems to me that a good number of people (inc. me!) have posted that they're in their 30s.

jep for my part I was rather surprised to find so many above their mid-twenties...

I am 15 now. Been playing civ since I was 12 or 11. Started with Civ 3 for Christhmas, got PTW a little while later, then got Conquests. Now here I am eagerly anticipating Civ 4. Oh I also became addicated to NES'ing a little more than a year ago....(see my sig)

I'm 44 ! started playing when a computer I got in 91 had Civ I on it. I would play until the security question would pop up that had to be answered by turnning to a specific page in the manual (which I didn't have). I went and bought the game to have the manual.

42 and started playing Civ1 on the PC. But I had some experiences with similar games (most of them freeware) on the Amiga.
Played Civ1, Civ2, Colonization, CtPI, CtPII on the PC. My addiction clearly ended with C3C, after having got a severe setback by Civ3 and PTW.
If Civ4 would fail I would leave the franchise, as I already dropped C3C in June last year, due to absolute disappointment.

well, i'm 20 and i been playing all civ games from 1 to 3, and hopefully civ 4 will work on my computer:rolleyes: (no its not the same one i had when civ1 came out):crazyeye: :D
