Ages of Fantasy Mod

Hello,
do you until need help with taking races from their fantasy stages to the a sci-fi stage? I'am good with such things and want to help you with it!
Do you need a german 24-hours-player in your team? :scan:
 
You should check out Flintloque, it was a war game that took Elves, Orcs etc into the renaissane era. Orc Redcoats were part of it and looked great.
 
Seems nice work, hope it doesnt looks too much like FH2, be carefull about that!
And just 1 question, dont elves needs at least 1 neutral leader?? I mean, as far as I know, in rpgs and so many books and stuff about fantasy, not all elves was essencially good, some actually didnt care about human race at all(that means something like neutral), or you dont think so? :p
 
Well I'm done the spell system mainly, Ffh doesn't seem to work for me. I looked at a few pages and guess that you can be able to cast the spells, so I started working on a similar thing. I also jotted down a few ideas.

Spells that increase : Strength, Movement
Spells that : Depleat a units strength, deplete a city's defense, give protection against negative spells.

Tell me what you think of 'em. I finished around 90% of the c++ for the spells, and about 60% of the python. I might be slowed down a tad bit because I started work on my new novel. :)

im thinking the same thing but didnt want to post to sound critical. from what ive heard you are using just the stereotypical fantasy setting similar to ffh and warhammer which are already being made. it could be really interesting going from the very early stages of fantasy to a scifi future but i think it will be a bit odd if, for example, elves are still using arrows in the future. whats the point of going into a scifi future instead of just your standard fantasy future which ends up being no different than the past and present?

like i said, do what you want, im not trying to bash anything, id just like to see this come out as something worth playing but i dont see how its possible if youre just taking bits and pieces from warhammer, warcraft, lotr and d&d. would be nice to have elves who along the centuries dropped their nature love and became the dominant machine users or something like that... something interesting and not what people are already doing and expect. (but this is just me talking ! =P )

and for the spell system, i think a big part of it is making sure the computer uses it! ffh has worked out most of their flaws in the system but are still working. if the ai isnt using the spells and using them well then there is no point since the human has a massive advantage. i hope youve got it working but i thought id say something since it is a huge point.

This will take you to the sci-fi stages and the future, FfH doesnt do that.

I think that some of the additions I made will make the AI use spells too.

Got an idea. Since this is also going to go into the sci-fi era, wouldn't it be interesting if we also had some alien civs. Or would that take away from the 'fantasy' idea of the mod?
 
No, alien civs would take away and overall just make the mod a little bit worse, but if I were to make another mod thats just sci-fi then it would be fine.
 
Talon: very good one sentence summary of how this will be different from FFH. Maybe emphasize that in your first post a little? (there seem to have been other people with the same question on their minds)

OK, first th elfen race...

how many futuristic you want the elfs?:scan:
LunaElfs: the are very magicbased and construct every thing new out of
moonshards and collect moonlightenergy with moon-power-stations.
Meta- or SteamElfs: Maybe a fusion with the dwarfen technologies of steam.
It only a small futurway of the elfs!
CyberElfs: Very hi-evoluted with lasers and plasmaweapons. Like an fusion of
''Ghost in the Shell'' and ''Neo Genesis EVA''.
Meybe J can make a fusion of the Cyber- and the LunaElfs...:nuke:

Oh, by the way:confused: : How many futuristic units of elfs you need?
Give it any new technologies I have to know about?
Do you plan any new era's (a 5th or a 6th)?
What's with religions or something like it?:mischief:
 
Looks like the main way in which this is different from FFH is that it won't actually happen ;)

(I know, I'm cruel; I have a slight idea how much work making a complete mod is and I salute everyone who even TRIES. I have some ideas, but I never even TRIED yet because I simply know I won't have the time)
