I have an issue with my current games. I play standard/large maps for maybe 3-4 hours in one evening because that's where I have the time for some gaming. However I have fallen into an issue where I never complete any of my games anymore because I usually need to hit the bed after 3-4 hours. When I stop playing I am usually entering Modern Era and most interesting points in the game seems like they have already passed. So the next day I find myself starting up a new game instead of completing the one from the day before. In some rare cases I do finish my games but often turns into a click-fest to next round until I win.
It such a waste for a much more interesting warfare. If the AI actually considered war seriously in late eras I am quite sure I would load up savegames more often. But usually it's just so quite and no AI's are taking any initiatives in most cases.
So my question is. If I setup a game in a later era will I then see the AI being more aggressive as I would from the Ancient era? How does it play out normally? Is it basically the normal AI starting that are being used if you setup a late era start?
