AI building wrong improvements

okay i NEVER automate my workers - apart from automate infrastructure. And yet they seem to love ripping up my mines and building cute looking windmills over the top of them, like they know best!!. Whats with this? Never happened in warlords or vanilla!
 
Now i'm with proof that fort doesn't connect any resource to the city! wanna look? On pictures i've scrolled on resources and took screenshots, if you look where is a fort on resource, in red text shows that it needs mine, in my territory are three resources of coal, but city shows that it has just one. What can you tell?

Didn't firaxis know about these "holes" when they were releasing it? Some kind a mess. Well look at my save and tell : am i right or wrong...in both ways many things must be changed by creators..and thx 4 hands up PieceOfMind :)

You are wrong :p
1) you do not have 3 but only 2 coal resources in your land - there is a total of 4 in the world.
2) 1 is connected with a mine and 1 is connected with a fort
3) your city has access to only one - but that is because you are trading the other one away to Sitting Bull :D
 
My vassal which I gave independence to has been rebuilding the same three workshops over and over and over again leaving his other 2 cities unimproved.

please post a savegame if you still have one. These sorts of problems need to be shown to Firaxis. Especially since this one sounds pretty serious.
 
The problem is we are so used to the govener settings not really effecting the workers builds, that we now forget that they do in a big way.

I "Rush grew" a city after a poison water attack, by putting farms everywhere I could, and moving a manual stack, with govener on FOOD. So Im watching this city every turn, and workers keep turning up to change all the mines to windmills. As soon as the city was a size I wanted, I turned FOOD off and guess what, no more autoworkers turned up.

Dont get me wrong, I would never put wokers on auto in the early game because we dont have enough contral over auto (No GO Build the Pastrue, then build the road on the way back, rather than the other way arround). However I think a lot of the problems are that we arent used to the new system yet.

As to forts, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, if Ive built a mine on something outside my city limets, the worker shouldnt build a Fort on it AT ALL, its just giving invaders really big defence bonuses when they run in and take those square first attack
