AI cheated? Or Foreign Minister Bug?

Was playing a BTS small map game today on Emperor level. After meeting all of the AIs, I pulled up the Foreign minister screen to look at techs, and all 4 AIs wanted Monotheism. Neither I nor anyone else had researched monotheism according to this screen, and yet Kublai Kahn was Jewish!!

Were you playing choose religion? That might have had something to do with it...and if all 4 AIs wanted monotheism, and you didn't have it, how could you tell? Did you have all the necessary prerequisites? If you don't have polytheism and masonry, somebody may have it and you don't know because you have to get both of those first.

it doesnt come up that they want a given tech without you having it...

Are you sure you're reading the right column? As oyzar says, the game only shows techs in the "AI wants" column if you already have them.

I don't know why I said they 'wanted' it in the original thread. It was under the can research column, and I had also not researched it.

well then there is either the possiblity that some ai you had not met had reaserched it or chose religions were on.

There are known issues with the "can research" column displaying techs that they already have if you do not have even the prerequisites for those techs. Hopefully it'll be fixed in the upcoming patch.
