AI never keeps alliances

Damn I was saving that for a good joke in an article I was writing as Mike_B from Firaxis is quoted as getting it wrong

Its the faq on the main page

http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3faq.shtml

Here is the line from the index

Razing cities lowers my reputation - but what about taking, then abandoning?

And the link to the section

http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3faq.shtml#military

And what Mike is quoted as saying :)

Here's a little clarification from MikeB_Firaxis about this issue:

quote: If you abandon a city that recently belonged to another civ, you get the same reputation as if you had razed the city when you captured it.

Even if it's for cheap? And why do it then in particular? "Make a trade" isn't really advice specific to a situation involving a military alliance, so why specifically advise players to make one at the same time, even on the cheap?

When i declare war and make an alliance, it is to weaken both of them and to slow tech tradind.

So if you want to keep an allie on your side and weaken him at the same time, then make an alliance with a luxurie and sell all other luxuries, this way you suck money from him and at the same time he wage war with an happy population.
