AI really needs **some** tweaking

Implement a better AI? I hear this demand over and over again. But how good do you want it to be? It's too abstract.

I think I'd put more hope on 3D instead. Yes it's just eye candies, but at least it's a more realistic feature. I see someone wants to pay one-year salary for a better (or perfect, human-like) AI. How much do you earn? Million-dollars? It just shows how easy people think it is.

Yeah, we definately need the wonder movies back, that's the biggest thing I miss from CIV II

I don't think that AI behaves like a civilization. If it is programmed to behave like a real civilization then the programmer never read history.
Leaders of civilizations are cynic - they are always prepared to sign a contract, for example. In Civ3 after a while - and NOT after serious offenses - they began to hate you. When in late games the world is divided between huge civs and 2 or 3 VERY small civ, then small civs should subdue themselves to the others for survival. In Civ3, they do not even try it. And we could continue with the city building, or unit building.
After all, i think the Civ3 AI is only a slightly greater challenge than it was in other games long before.

Well that's because AI civs behave like a players, who try to win is possibile, not like many real civilizations for which matter of survival is the only goal.

Whats the big deal about a 3d engine anyway? SMAC was a 3d engine (for multiple varieties of landscape height etc), I see no problem with Civ4 having a 3d engine for that too. There ARE benefits to 3d and not just the popular idea that its all about eye candy.
