AI Stupidities: CIV IV

The one truly stupid thing I notice about the AI in EVERY game I play is how poorly it places cities and how it'll drop cities basically ANYWHERE if there is land (And sometimes where there isn't). I swear, the AI would drop a city on a single square desert island simply to build one. It builds on tundra, desert, snow, whatever. It doesn't care. It just wants land. ANY land.

In the late game, Sitting Bull (situated on islands far away) sends loaded Carriers off to attack me. And defends them with Stealth Destroyers. Sure, that might work...if I decided to attack with Stealth Destroyers. As a result, he loses his remaining air force on these pointless attacks with no cost to me, while another, much geographically closer civ pounds him mercilessly from the skies to support his invasion of Sitting Bull's islands.

That's more a bug of the game i think than AI stupidity. SD's and submarines should have a flag so that owner could decide whether they are to be used as escort ships, popping up as defenders, or hide, utilizing their invisibility.

However, greatest AI stupidity is them voting for a human to win...

Land is power :p

Maybe so, but unproductive cities drain one's economy. The AI doesn't seem to care about this.

Oh, I know. I'm not saying what the AI does is in the slightest bit sensible. It's just that "Land is power" is somewhat of a slogan on here :p
