Question:
I'm in the middle of a game now where slowly, over the past several weeks, I've picked off one AI civilization after another. (I usually choose "Random" rather than choose how many civs are in a game; this one had 5 originally.) It's the mid-1800s now and there are only two left.
From using the Tribe Editor I know that each AI civilization has pre-determined values of aggressiveness, expansionism and "civilized-ness". However, while going through a game, I often see that when I finish off what had been an aggressive tribe, one of the remaining tribes that had thus far been calm or indifferent will suddenly become more aggressive. Does the AI have a formula for games that ensures at least one aggressive AI tribe at all times?

It seems that aggressiveness is the decisive value, because while it's possible to have games where all the AI tribes are hostile and aggressive - oh yeah! - it is not possible (at least in any game I've played) to have all the AI tribes friendly or passive. I suppose that would make for some rather boring games... <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/cwm33.gif" border=0>
