It is 2950 BC. I am a Chinese Warrior and I am standing adjacent to a Goody Hut, there is an Iroquois Warrior also adjacent to the Goody Hut. The Iroquois gets their turn before me and the Warrior walks away form the Goddy Hut. I step into the Goody Hut and surprise, it is full of barbarians.

I know the AI knows the where everything is, but I wouldn't think it would be this blatant.

Did it walk away because it knew that there were barbs inside. It is to early for barbarians to appear from barb camps, usually only find them in goody huts, at least I never see them this early in the game, so I don't think that it was re-directed towards a barb.

I guess it is possible that someone just declared war on them and he had to high-tail it back to defend the country.

Or made the AI is blind or just generous.

I've had the same thing happening a few times and guess what always got those nasty barbs :(
Learned my lesson ever since , if the AI runs from a goody hut , run faster!

I have seen the AI pop hut and get barbs, so I doubt they are "afraid". It is more likely that they had some other reason or just a bad logic path.

I mean they will send a wounded warrior into a barb camp. They wil attack a stack of barbs with no hesitation.

Doesn't the RNG decide what the hut gives after it has been poped?

Well, what's in the huts is determined on map creation. If it's a tech, it's just saved as "tech" and not a specific one(since the game doesn't know what techs the popping civ will have when they pop it).

Most likely the AI saw a more pressing need for the warrior and sent it off.

Not sure about that. I have reloaded games and waited a turn and the hut will sometimes deliver something different. Reload same turn = same results, reload and wait a turn or so and you may get something else.

Or turning off 'preserve random seed' will have the same effect. ;)
