Leodim submitted a new resource:

AIOnlyBattle for Drew Durnil - Some settings to make AI Only Battles more interesting to watch.

This is my first released mod, might not be perfect. Also I claim no real work on this, it's more a compilation with changes of many existing mods.

This is a mod to make AI Only Battles more interesting to watch.
AI needs some tweaks to take more cities and games more fun to watch. You only need Autoplay (available at civfanatics) with this. Possibly AI+ but some changes are already here (but not AI related changes).

Done it mainly cause I like to sometimes watch Drew Durnil AI only...

Leodim updated AIOnlyBattle for Drew Durnil with a new update entry:

Added map for Ynamp's GreatestEarth observer as Pericles

Forgot to add a possible usefull and only slightly changed map :

You can also use the slightly modified version of GreatestEarth map if you have Ynamp, just replace same Ynamp folder (Mods\Yet (not) Another Maps Pack\Maps\GreatestEarthMap) content with it (original files ares backed up in the folder).

What it does : it adds an inaccessible small land at bottom where Pericles starts, so you can use Pericles as observer (not really playing) with no penalty for anyone even if on king...

In short

Main changes:
- make cities strength weaker
- make cities strength even weaker when no unit in it (also because couldnt make them even weakier without that, and it still made sense IRL)
- raise city min distance to 4, helps AI builds district which helps them support army etc. Might also helps them in battle because they're not always that good in narrow places
- lower different walls strength
- much much less war amenity loss (cause AI tends to make barbs pop too often cause of rebellion)
- raise slightly damage done per battle (to avoid keeping tons of units for too long in wars, and makes "taking advantage" a bit more decisive)
- make attacker a bit advantaged compared to def to help AI attacks (only slightly, to compensate that in defense, cities tend to help too much). Done by lowering terrain def scores, also works on cities btw

Slightly changes:
- lowered ranged and siege strength a little bit just to compensate that previous change about attacker, which helped them even more than melee units
- made to be used on king, so setted prod AI to +20% and gold to +100%. Science/culture unchanged (+8% at king)
- slighlty raised duration of later eras but much much less than in 8 age of pace
- gave 4 charges to military engineers, although not sure AI tends to do anything interesting with them anyway
- already explained the map part for ynamp, which is totally optionnal

Might have forgot a few things but that's the main part.

As said : not made to be used with games with humans, some changes are easily exploitable, but makes AI only battles better to watch (more cities can actually get captured, game gets less stagnant).

Voila!

Updated overview a lot. Should be quite readable now.

It's not perfect but I feel, after my own tests, it's 10 times better than vanilla.

EDIT: I also changed "autoplay" mod to make it only move view to newly built wonders (and not less important events), and never zoom without asking. Didn't include it but I could if needed. Ofc it's very easy changes but I dunno how handy do people feel with doing that themselves. Just ask if I should include it.

This is not a bump because honestly I really hope someone can do even much better for ai vs ai battles.
But I'm a bit surprised I'm the only one interested in this. While I agree "general AI" is much muuuch more important than just tweaks for AI vs AI that can't all be applied to real games (I went back to play civ5 for a while now because of this), still am I the only one who likes those stuff?

And if not, no one tested it and (I hope) saw much better results with it? It was made for ai vs ai "youtubers" and whatnot, and if you feel results sucks (vs vanilla or other mods), I'm glad to hear and please explain why :)

Ok maybe it was a bump, but only to get criticize; cause I still find it the best results yet (for civ6) in that very particular area.
