Where have the good modern Air Power games gone?! These games seem so rare these days, and when they exist, they tend to be WW2-era, not more modern-era. I'm talking about games like A-10, or Jane's USAF...

Does anyone know of a good modern-day game that is modern Air Power, but has been made recently (so it runs on recent computer hardware)?

Locked-On is more modern-based, but it's dated; Tom Clancy's HAWX is also allegedly decent... I've tried both and IMHO they suck, hard. Air Combat simulators/games are one of the few games that IMO belong on a console.

Ace Combat 4, Ace Combat 5, and Ace Combat 6 (aka AC Zero) are all great games; I own and play them all on the PS2.

The best air combat video game for the PC that I know of is AH-64 Apache, and that game is nearly a decade old. Anyway, I can't find it anywhere since I lost my original copy :(

No, you just need joystick (at least) to play them. The reason why there aren't many of them around anymore is because there isn't much of a market for them, most people are getting used to simpler games (and a lot of stuff I've read from game developers and focus testing indicates many of them strive to make their games user friendly and will make something more simple and obvious than it could/should be just so people don't complain about it taking an extra minute to find an exit or something).
