ive updated the map, so delete the old saves n replace with these and place the mod in mod folder;)

major mod changes : units have double movement, religions are more likely to befounded in india/china/arabia/persia/babylon or rome
catapults are enebled by math tech, changed traits of some leaders and changed their behaviour,AI is more likely to declare war.
can "only" build 2 world wonders per city, improvements takes double time to make.

Rhye's Earth map but i have made ALOT of changes to balance it the way i want it, my goal was to make the most realistic game and still balanced i could, hope you enjoy, note you need one of the many mods that unlocks so u can play with 34 or more civs, hope you enjoy.

the mod fixes the problem with religion spread, ive tested the mod many times and tweaked it, the religion will spread almost nothing, the controller of a religion will hafto work on spreading it with missonaries wish the AI has no problem doing, so no more hinduism in england in ancient times ^^ .

I Have made a lot of thought about barbarians and the AI diff. I dont like to play any diffculty above noble since the AI has the same abilities as you and no "advantage" or cheating. The AI's stupid behaviour is the problem, unfortunatley i lack the skill to do some real modding in AI's behaviour, but in the mod i changed the way the AI spend their commerce so they will spend all on research and not waste it on EP or culture or gold. added a diffculty instead of diety named ALEX, this diffculty is harder than Noble but easier than Prince, the AI gets no bonus on production so they build research the same as you, but they pay a little less money on unit costs, civic upkeep and inflation percent.

the problem with barbarians is that the AI gets a large bonus on fighting them on lower diffculty levels so the cities will just fall fast, and if u give them lots of units and wall in barb cities they will not fall until late game when the AI dont get bonus vs them and jerusalem will with 2 holy city religion status will take half barbylons lands and turkish lands. so the city "needs" to fall to any of these countrys.

and the balance, well the map is not meant to be balanced at all so china and russia will probly be the major nations, this is becouse of the amount of cities they can have so on, im going to look into how i can strenghten some of the other nations.

thats why i left out portugal and dutch to give france , spain and germany more space /power to grow.

First off the map and with all 32 civs works smoothly totaly playable, ive playtested it myself more than 50 times and made changed to map/civs everytime and this is the end restult so far. Posting some Screens.

What i wanted to do was a earth map, bts, with all / as many civs as possible for BtS. Started off with celts, holy rome, portugal, aztecs, natives and so on, later removed natives and all american civs switch around the locations of civs and resources expermenting alot.

My Goal was to make the game as realistic as possible, since i have no knowledge of modding or programming, the things a could do wasnt much, i can only change the map and civs, still i try to make it as realistic as possible.

One problem was, HOW can India found both Hinduism and Buddhism, its impossible with 31 or more other civs researching for religions. So i though maybe india was more than one civ, ive heard of ancient indian civs in history before so i started researching it and eventualy found that india in ancient had 2 diffrent civs along to diffrent rivers in india, so i added the civ that asoka controlled in reality wish also was at war in real life with another city state or civ in real life thus makeing this quite accurate and would simulate the diffrent intresets and wars withing india itself. Thats is the explenation why india has 2 civs.

Next Holy Rome, Portugal, Celts, Dutch, Byzantine , was in my few first tests, but the map is simply to small to hold so many civs in europe and i dont want a larger map, becouse then it will take more time for civs to settle the entire map and thous plan wars, and then all the ancient-mideival wars would not happen, wish was also a goal for me, makeing the AI start wars as early as possible, since history is full of them. So i didnet exclude dutch, celts, porto becouse i felt their contribution to earths history was to small just becouse there isnt enought room for them, and holy rome, byzantine, celts seesed to excist anyway, so history for dutch would be incorperated into germany or french and porto as as spain.

I added some more oasis and resources into arbian lands trying to make it prossible for them to found a religion wish is possible in later game, i also changed alot in egypt to balance so they can be a super power in ancient times but probly wont be in later game.

Also i decided that it is more fun to have all the american ancient civs, aztecs, natives and so on , despite the fact that there is a chance they found a religon and wonders witch they didnt build but this is not very likely since i changed alot around them in terrain and resources. The "Modern Americans" aka USA are not in the game since they where european settlers so on you get the idea.

Had to change alot of terrain in ethopia and zulu lands to make them less powerfull becouse they grew very powerfull as it was. Also hade same problem with Russia who grew to extreme power fast, that is the reason why i added the Huns, witsh was there in history, i know they are seen as barbarians and are in random event as attila and huns comes, but they where not more barbarians than genghis khan and the mongols and they are a civ in the game, so i see no reason why not attila and the huns shouldnt be in the game, they extorted protection money from the roman empire in real life and to do that in the game u hafto be a civ :p . Next i removed sumeria for the same reason as the rest there is no room for them, and they are represented by the babylon in later game and babylon also represent all other non-arabic peoples in the area after ancient times. Turks start in the middle of turkey since they acctualy concqured constantinople/instanbul was part of they empire to start with but the name/city will be in the wrong place but to be honest its just names it doesnt matter. And to getback to huns, they also represent all other peoples/civs in that area wish wasnt part of the sovjet/russia, but was maybe conqured later.

Persia was also a problem since babylon is there and so on persia spreads north, up into what is russia/khazakstan and so on mongolia. I stopped this by adding the scythians wish had some good weight on ancient history, they where also a large kingdom, so darius will represent them and they will represent Khazakstan in latergame wish is a large country but mostly desert areas.

Its is also very unlikly that any of my own custom civs will build any wonders or found religons, so that was important aswell, except asoka and sun quan has possibility for wonders and religion witch is accurate since they represent diffrent factions within india and china. thatbrings me to the Wu Empire lead by Sun Quan (Mao) wish represent the 3 kingdoms time before chinas unification and also if the unfication didnt happen and or other factions withing china u get the general idea.

another problem was the settling in indonesia by china, india, persia, khmer, japan... i needed as civ to take up this empty space, so i researched and found out about ancient java / indonesian empires and added one of them wish had a great importans to history in reality. anyway hope someone enjoys the map, but i mainly did it for myself, but maybe someone is tired of all the mods and just want a earth map w/o mods.

updated, changed some resources and terrains and moves huns alittle east and moved scythia north, also moved mali south, map has also a religons version where all religons are founded at start, and a barbarian city, jerusalem is holy city for christians and jews, it pop size 3 at start so i wont get auto razed and starts with wall so it can be to easaly taken.
 
Hello ,well done man. Sorry i am a little bit slow , cause i do an alexworldmap at marathon/prince as the english. Its 4.20 in the morning after 12 hours playing the map. THX for doing it.

thx, cool, glad someone likes it :) , can also download a newer version its been in moderation que for 3 days :mischief: but is now approved. nice that u have patience to play marathon and prince, marathon is the most realistic gamespeed but it can also be alot more boring especialy in the early years.
 
Hey I've played through one game on your map so far and just started on another one.

The one I finished I was going for domination victory as Rome but ended up winning space-race instead. Started out conquering France and Spain and later Carthage and Greece. Catherine was my . .. .. .. .. . and not a problem but Qin Shi Gang or whatever his name is kept vassaling everything that moved and made further conquers to the east impossible as he was the strongest nation by far. Ended up with most of Europe and all of Africa. That was on emperor difficulty and I really enjoyed that game. Went by surprisingly fast for a marathon game.

Second one (current) is as Babylon going for cultural (perhaps) victory, emperor difficulty as well. It's still early but so far I've conquered Jerusalem (and Arabia), spread christianity throughout all of Europe and Africa and most of western Asia. I'm making 90g/turn @ 100 research with a mere 5 cities (though maybe 6 units/city - Babylon, Jerusalem, Mecka and the other two cities Saladin builds) and I'm at the top of the score ranking with everybody loving me - pleased or friendly, no exception in the Christian gang. The game's been a breeze so far but they've just caught up with me in the tech race and Cath and Cyrus are getting closer score-wise as well. Real fun game so far but I reckon the mid-end & end game will be tough as I really lack production and areas to expand.

Couple of comments:

One, you need to change something regarding Jerusalems defences. This time I just built a semi-decent army, temporarily fortifying them on the forest covered hill next to the city and suddenly all defending forces, three archers plus two warriors, steps out of the city to the south (opposite direction) and the archers disappears (!). As if they were disbanded. This made the conquering... uh... a slight bit too easy. Some sort of AI issue there.

Two, the spreading of religion in the western part of asia all the way to the south of Africa and all of Europe is just to rapid as soon as you build the "religion building" (Temple of Salomon, Church of Nativity etc). I send two missionaries as soon as I got my building up and suddenly Christianity was spreading to two to four cities every turn. Insane. As I had the pyramids I changed to Universal Suffrage and simply bought every unit I needed. The disgustingly high income also helped me buy 2-3 wonders I wouldn't had even thought about building (at least not on emperor diff). Maybe reverting to the first release and putting on of the religions somewhere else may help prevent this as it simply makes the middle east country that captures Jerusalem too powerful (esp. since that basically creates a border-wall towards Arabia and effectively puts Islam out of the picture if you're fast enough). That would cut down on the realism though.

Three, the map is pretty imbalanced. Russia and China (obviously), maybe Persia and the religious civs like Babylon and (previously) Rome, are too strong. Many minor countries are too weak. Ethiopia, Mali, the whole American continent, Spain, France, England etc... too weak. They won't stand a chance as long as the AI controls them.

ANYWAY, I gotta go to work in like four hours so that's all the input you gonna get for now. Appreciate all the work you put in to this map, looking forward to the next update. Maybe add some more, better fortified, barbarian cities too?

im looking into these things now as i think u have a good point, will upload the updated map and mod aswell will probly be ready in some days.

Cool, I'll give it a go on my new computer (duo 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, gf 8600m gt laptop w. 24" @ 1900x1200). Lategame was a bit slow on the old one :)

hehe okay hulk, ;D im currently makeing a mod testing it alot, it will add 4 new civics, changes to the civics already there, changes in buildings, changes in leaders behaviour, no founded religions are founded by tech but much earlier techs, more wonders and other changes, ill put it up when im done balanceing testing
 
Hey, I've got some trouble loading it. After downloading the .rar i unpack and copy the folder to my Mods folder. It shows up in the game but fails to load. Any tips on solving the issue?

no tips on solving but the reason: the mod isn't compatible to the new patch yet ;)
 
The religions are not fixed in a departure town...

I cant see new civics...

Your map is very stable ! No crash ! The save was even 750 Ko !
 
i had redone all civics, goverment civics was all new, labour, law and economy, was playtesting and then the patch 3.13 came out and messed upp my work ^^ so i deleted everything, ill maybe try to remake the stuff i did.

departure town? im not quite done with religions yet hard to get it perfect so ill start testing the map and working on it.

Is it intentional that no GP % boni are working when using your mod?
