I had better say, I am a noober at PBEM, and not very up to speed on the best strategies... but it should be fun!

We'll be playing in Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire, but if you don't have it we can play on SMAC. What faction? I'll be playing as Rose.

Cloud coverage?
Fungal density?
Alignment of stars?

I would like to play University of Planet, as I have founds some guides on how to play that factions. (Trouble is, I don't seem to do very well when I try and use the advice in the guide!)

If possible, could we play with the map of planet? Everyone would be familiar with it, and it would mean the game wouldn't take as long for everyone as with a huge map.

Yes, you can choose difficulty in MP.

On the escape pods you're correct.

On the spoiler thing: in this case, since I have forgotten so much about this game (thanks to Civ 3 (And Civ4 when I had a better computer)), I will probably not win. So in that case, consider me an intelligent AI, out to spoil your plans for victory. Not much else I can do until I relearn this game!
