Am I being dense

Im fairly new to Civ 3 and have downloaded C3C (full) and I am haveing a problem running it. The problem occures after I install it I click on it and it says I need the Conquests disc?

Can someone please help

where did you download it from? have you already got Civ 3 installed? also i found that these downloads (i presume it is a legal one) tend to require that the version of civ underneath is patched up to date

If you scroll through some of the threads, you will see some threads that may see some that will help you. I would suggest that you edit your first post and indicate that you downloaded a legal version since CFC has a no piracy policy.

If I can remember correctly, you should have been issued a code once you registered and paid for the game which should unlock it and allow you to play w/out the disk. I do not know for certain since I did not acquire my version in that manner.

Just to clarify, you have both Civ 3 and Conquests installed?

Did you install C3C, or are you saying that you installed the patch? The patch is not the full version of the game; you install the patch over the full version to fix bugs. I think you were fooled because the patch does say v1.22 Full.

Just to clarify what homeyg said:
Civilization III Conquests is an expansion pack to Civilization III. You need to purchase Civ3 Conquests in order to utilize the C3C updates.

There is your problem. You have Civ 3 installed, not Conquests (C3C). Conquests is an expansion and you would need to purchase it in order to play.

That has really put me off Civ now, can I buy Conquest on its own or do I have to buy Civ 3 with Conquest

You can buy it on its own. Here, for example, though it'll be much cheaper if you find the right place. You could just crack your version, but that is of course horribly naughty and bad.

Just re-install and play vanilla Civ III for now, and when you realize how great it is, buy Conquest!
