At the moment i am trying the HOF gauntlet 2 and i kind of feel that i am not able to win by space victory. At AD1200+, my GPT is only +10 currently and my average hammer per city is about 10~15. I am wondering how it is possible to build a space ship part that is 800 hammer =/.

I am just wondering, am i really slow ? =/

(my first post :D)

Your GPT is really horrible but your hammers are pretty good. I don`t know what you`re doing, my guess is you`re not building trade posts on every tile.

Maybe increase your GPT so you can make more research agreements and get to Space Tech faster.

Average production/city isn't a good way to judge your production. You only need 2-3 high production cities, so the question would be how many hammers are you top producers spitting out?

As far as the gold, it certainly could be better. Like lissenber said, try putting more trading posts on your tiles. Specializing cities should help as well (if you aren't doing so already).

i have only 5 city + 2 puppet capital. It is archipelago map so i couldn't spam trade post, and most of the tiles are luxury and resources =/. My highest production city is 15~18 depend on if i want growth.

what does it mean by specializing ? is it to have 1 city for production , 1 city for science? etc. I have 2 city for production and one with massive food(for science).

Usually my capital end up quite useless .. is it common ?

I guess it means to build cities to have only one function. Like, say building/purchasing only research structures at a city founded on or near jungle tiles so as to get more from the University's bonus (+2 beakers for each jungle wile worked) or establishing a city on a hilly/foresty area and mining/lumber milling the surrounding tiles for production.

Also, my capital almost always ends up as my valuable city. Don't know why, but it just does.

i usually build library the moment my population hit >6 =/ i believe my low GPT also due to the happiness buildings i have. I had low happiness due to 2 big city i have and only 4 luxury.

btw , how many years is 1 turn ? i notice initially it was 50 years or something and now it is 5. does it reach 1:1 ratio ?

For standard, it starts with 40 yrs/turn then significantly lowers the longer you play (in standard, any way). IIRC it gets down to just 1yr/turn the moment you hit the 1900's. Also, if you have money problems, remember that you get happy faces for only the first instance of a luxury. If you have 2 Cotton, for example, you only get 5 from the first. The other one, you trade for stuff with other civs. Also, I usually get the library first, regardless of population, because it's a specialist building and will allow you to get increased outputs the moment they complete.
