Am I playing 'crippled Scion'?

Hello again,

Not knowing much FF, I took Scion and let fate decide for me which leader I would get. I got Korina and not the Emperor.

But I feel I'm playing Scion with half the options. I have -25% Awakened generation for example and some units are forbidden to me. I can't build Temple of the Gift, so how I'm supposed to get Revenants and all the cool units?

Also Korina the Hero is not available... :(

Correction. You're playing scions with half the Scion-only options. And in exchange, you gain some different generic options, via religion.

Consider for a moment. Order riests casting unyielding order. You'd have No unhealth, no unhappiness, and no food requirements, allowing you to grow population to incredible amounts.

ok... damn though, I wanted to play 'full Scion' :)

Ok for pop, but my pop really don't grow much,I'm at 16% / turn for awakened and I have no other mean to get pop but building them for 600 shields (or capturing cities)... Point in case, only my capital is big (16 pop) while the rest is made of level 1-2 cities (mostly captured). For now Scion is a one city wonder civilization for me.

Any clever mean to get pop faster? Theoretically yes, I can grow to big levels but practically there is no mean to do that.

Scions will always have low population, but each population point is much more productive. I Estimate that non-fallow civs need two to three times the population of scions for the same productivity.

There is no need to harvest food, which I think is about one third of the normal population. Then, at least in the beginning, almost every tile you work is a bonus square, since you allocate each Awakened individually. This is helped by the fact that each population point can start a new city, without worrying about building settlers. Also, the low population, high production nature of scion cities mean that fixed income buildings, like Elder Council and Markets have a higher impact.

I usually go for Drama early and use the Bard to found Fabricaforma or Masqerade. My massive landgrab for luxuries and many small cities make them very worthwhile. Also Drama enables the Halls of the Covenant(?), which raises spawning a lot and is required for Cathedral of Rebirth.

After I think Priesthood and Sorcery, you start getting reborn upon razing cities. that becomes a main way later on.
