Am I really lucky or skilled?

Hi there, I have been playing lots of multi player and single player in Civ 5, but for some reason when I build a wonder, I can easily predict which ones will be built first depending on the situation, so It allows me to make a estimation of getting specific wonders 95% of the time... is this skill or just pure luck? I know, sometimes I seem judgmental, but it seems to work effectively if you go for the overlooked wonders of the world, you just cannot be beaten that way. Also I normally find out that the player is going for the overlooked wonders by simply attempting to build the most commonly early built wonders just so I can identify what the other players go for if they rushed something early.

Oh, BTW I go for the most fought over wonders first, and normally get it because I have the initiative to build it as fast as humanly possible because I know its value. Or simply steal a good one with a great engineer, that way I can have good wonders and overlooked wonders no problem.

what an odd question. what do you intend to get out of this thread? I mean, what you're doing sounds like straightforward common sense to me- but even if it were your superpower- uh, okay?

why this question?
