Am I screwed out of this achievement?

I am currently trying to get the achievement with gandhi for getting +35 using his ability. For this to happen, it appears that all 7 civs need to be at peace.

Well I have only revealed my starting continent so far, but one of the founders of one of the other religions was eliminated from the game. There are now only 6 founders in the game. Is there anyway for me to redeem this?

1. Does the game count whoever has the city now as the founder? I doubt it since total war could then get this achievement, but not sure.
2. Do I risk trying to revive the civ, whoever they may be?

I think you are indeed locked out of it. However, you can always declare war on the one that conquered them (use the declaration of war that has the lowest possible warmongerpenalty) and take only the city/cities of the founder of that civilizatoin, and then liberate them. Liberating bonuses are quite nice, so you probably don't have to be afraid of anyone getting mad at you (might have a slight drop when you declare the war, but as long as you don't keep any cities for yourself it's without repercussions for sure).

I actually did something like this in my current game (not for that achievement however). France had been conquered early, so in the medieval era (I think it was) I declared war on their conqueror China and took first the city China had build "in front" of the French capital (from my point of view), which I kept for myself, and then I took the French capital and liberated them. Even with me keeping the city the liberation bonus was stronger than the warmonger penalty (seriously, I had like 5 happy faces and 2 unhappy faces after that all the time, though atm it's a bit worse because I declared war on Rome to get a port on a sea at the other side of the continent and further my colonization goals).

No, it won't count the empire that holds the city now as the founder, I've already tried that. :/

As Leyrann said I'd also try to revive them, as they will still count as a religion founder after revival.

When I tried to get that achievement for the first time, I had Montezuma and Barbarossa in my game, and they were nice enough to declare some kind of eternal war against other AIs, without ever making peace again. The whole place was swarming with Barbarians/ Rebels because of war weariness already, but they just did not care! Almost as they would know THAT I JUST WANTED THAT ...STUPID... ACHIEVEMENT!! :run:

It took me 6 games to get that achievement. Kept getting wars.

Looks like there's always something screwed with Satyagraha  I'm playing as Gandhi now, in my case nobody has been conquered yet, and everybody is at peace. However, Saladin has got the last Prophet through his ability long time ago, but refuses to found the religion, so the game only has 6 religions  I guess he just doesn't have a Holy Site, and I'm not sure how I can help him with that.

On the other hand, if you forget about achievements, that's one less religion to eliminate. And Saladin without the religion is less annoying :)

Build a city next to his borders, build a holy site in the city, gift it to him. Now he's super happy and he'll found his religion.
