At the moment I'm trying to get as many strategies as possible to know all civs in the game. I was thinking americans aren't good because they aren't a good civ at the start, but now I believe with luck you can still do anything good.
Bonuses:
Start: Great Person free
Ancient: 2% interest
Medieval: 1/2 cost to rush units
Industrial: +1 food from plans
Modern: x3 production factories
All these bonuses are cool, now I will explain how to start depending on which great person you get:
1)Great explorer: use that to get 50 gold, rush a warrior and go for horseback in first 5 turns. Now rush out horsemen and kill others. You can go straight for horseback and rushing it if you want.
2)Great scientist: use that to rush horseback riding
3)Great humanitarian: use that to add 1 pop or explore if you want before doing this.
4)Great leader: explore, then sell it to get gold and rush horsemen (horseback in 5 turns).
5)Great artist (the worst I think): settle in the city - wait to flip a city or flip one of your cities beeing conquered - explore, then sell it or wait to flip cities while you rush horsemen.
EARLY STAGE
1) Get 50 gold and set all into production, each turn rush a warrior for 2 gold until you have 2 warriors. You will have 28 gold in the second turn, so better than aztecs. Explore while you set all into research, and you will get horseback riding in 5 turns. When you have the settle free, build a city with at least 2 food tiles, 2 water tiles and 1 forest (2 is better). Build a road for 20-30 gold and build as fast as possible an horsemen army and explore, if possible get veteran and attack a capital.
2) From the start work on horsemen and explore with them. Combine an army and attack a capital if possible. Produce one horseman more to protect your capital (attacking enemies units)
3)This is good as china, produce 2 warriors working on 2 forests and 1 working on nothing (you still get 1 hammer), now work on horseback riding and work on 2 forests and 1 water tile, in 10 turns you will have 2 horsemen and horseback riding. Set the production on stonehenge and rush them for 0 gold.
4)There aren't good strategies for this, but you can build a warrior first, you can work on horseback riding in 5 turns and get as many horsemen as possibly and combine an army. Veteran bonus fast is good but not the best, however.
5)This is the worst maybe, however, you can build a lot of cities in this strategy near your capital.
This is the order for the entire game:
Horseback riding (also in 5th case if you want to try)
Bronze working
Pottery
Masonry
Irrigation (before this build more cities if possible).
Alphabet
Writing
Literacy
Maths
-Now build barracks in your capital and produce as many catapults as possible rushing them for few gold.
Code of laws (if you want to expand anymore)
Construction
Engeneering
Invention
Steam power
Banking
Industrialization
You don't need so much democracy, but if you want get it with university.
Go for communism as fast as possible to get a huge production, now go for combustion and finish your enemies, if they are still alive.
While you have maths, start building catapults and kill as many humans as possible, if you want go for religion, and build while you attack enemies new cities.
Before this, try to reach as fast as possible 100 gold after you have rushed out horsemen, sell techs, send as many caravans as possible. Now the 2% interest will work for you and you will have very fast more than 300 gold and you can rush out units very fast, if you want settle a city to build caravans to get a huge bonus, instead of building a gold city (useless in my opinion using americans).
I hope this helps, ask me what you want, I have tried this in deity and this worked as well.
