Amina's Max Resources Challenge (Deity, Pangea+)

Inspired by that time I got 47 resources in one city as Shawnee + Tomb of Askia + lots of camels, I've decided to try to set a record for the most resources in a settlement at once. My plan to get the maximum amount is:
  • Capital (4 slots default)
  • Amina (+1 in all Cities)
  • Bazaar and Wharf buildings (+3)
  • Metropole Civic (+1 in all Homeland Cities)
  • Colossus (+3)
  • Monk's Mound (+4)
  • Tomb of Askia (+2)
  • Machu Pikchu (+2)
  • Economic Node (+2 in Cities if at most 3 Cities)
  • Shawnee (+1 in Capital per City-State) - this could potentially get me lots of slots
  • Camels (+2 per Camel) - this challenge ends in Exploration since Modern will never be able to get as many slots without Camels
This would get me at least 23 slots, then I need to grab as many camels and city-states as possible. Theoretically, I could get a few more with Carthage's Punic Port (+2) and Wisdom of Tanit tradition (+3 in Capital), but this would make the challenge much harder as the city required to pull this off needs very specific tiles for the wonders:
  • A coast tile for Colossus
  • A river for Monk's Mound
  • Desert for Tomb of Askia
  • A tropical mountain for Machu Pikchu
Due to how important it will be to get City-States, I've instead gone with Greece in antiquity. Pangea Plus is also the best map for this, since I can scout out plenty of camel spots and have the best chance of suzeraining as many city-states as possible before anyone else. To this end I'm also using the Shisha Necklace memento (+100 influence once you suzerain a city-state), and began with Treaty of Kadesh (+1 Diplo Point) to faster get to the attribute that reduces befriending cost. Undecided what other memento I will use at the start of Exploration.

I've currently reached the end of Antiquity, and it's gone very well. This is the city that will become my capital in the next era, with a tropical mountain reserved for machu pikchu and a few desert tiles for Tomb of Askia.

As for camels, I have a few towns poised to grab a few, which Charlemagne helpfully settled for me, plus one of my own. There are currently nine revealed camel tiles, four of which I own, and hopefully the distant lands will have a few more. However one of the unowned ones is on a tile that can no longer be reached by any settlement, so either I'll accept -3 resources or do a little city-razing to get at it.

I have another town located fairly centrally to the continent with the Valley of Flowers, so with the +5 trade route range per city-state bonus I should be set to be able to trade with anyone anywhere. Two camels are currently in the territory of people who declared war on me in the last couple turns, hopefully I'll be able to repair the relationship in Exploration enough to be able to trade for them again.

I currently am suzerain of twelve-city states. I'm estimating I could get 15 next era, and hopefully if there's two more camels in the distant islands I could have 10 camels, bringing my total resources to 68 (23 + 15 + 30). At the very least I'll be aiming for 60, so wish me luck!

63 Resources!
Got 14 city states and 10 camels in the end. Lost some slots due to:
  • Inka got Machu Pikchu before I could (-2)
  • Lost the race to a city-state (-1)
  • At least two (that I know of) city states being razed (-2)
  • One camel in an inaccessible spot (-2)

This is what the number of slots looks like without any resources besides camels, and no resources at all. Safe to say camels make quite a bit of difference, but 33 slots without them is still pretty powerful with Askia.
